Building on the success of last year’s tractor ride, Heartland Acres will host its 2nd Annual Tractor Ride and Barn Quilt Tour on Friday, July 23.
This year’s route will begin at Heartland Acres and will travel north to Fairbank, winding though the countryside, going by Hazleton and traveling on Amish Boulevard stopping for lunch in Fairbank.
Following lunch, riders will experience an alternate route back to Independence to see more of the scenic Amish countryside.
Along with the tractor ride, organizers are again offering a barn quilt tour to those who want to view the assortment of barn quilts throughout the county. The barn quilt tour will begin at 8:00 a.m., meet the tractor drivers for lunch in Fairbank and then head back to Heartland Acres. This year registration fees will include the opportunity to see Big Bud, the world’s largest tractor now on display at Heartland Acres.
“We decided to move the ride up a month to give riders a chance to see Big Bud” commented co-organizer Ralph Kremer. “This new date will also miss the start of school and will give a chance for more people to participate.”
Heartland Acres are now accepting registrations, the cost is $25.00 per driver, the barn quilt tour is also $25.00. All registrations must be in by July 20th any registration received after that date may not be accepted.
